Goodwill West Louisville Opportunity Campus Guidelines

General Use Guidelines for Use of Internal or External Space at the Goodwill West Louisville Opportunity Campus

Effective Date: September 16, 2024

Activities may not be conducted in a manner that:

Violates any federal, state, or local laws
Is incompatible with or unreasonably interferes with the Goodwill Opportunity Campus educational programs, services, or other legitimate functions
Violates the rules or policies of the Goodwill Opportunity Campus
Violates applicable fire or safety regulations
Interferes with, blocks, or impedes normal access, ingress, or egress to/from any building
Endangers personal safety, damages personal or Goodwill property, or violates an individual’s privacy
Employs unauthorized sound amplification or creates unreasonable noise disrupting Goodwill Opportunity Campus activities
Causes illegal harassment, defamation, terrorist threats, or promotes/imminent violence, bodily injury, or property damage

Learning Center Rooms Cannot Be Used For:

Social events/parties (e.g., birthday parties, baby/wedding showers, weddings, school graduations, etc.)
Political events, due to Goodwill's tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code

Political Campaign Guidelines:

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, Inc. is prohibited from endorsing candidates or participating in political campaigns as it could jeopardize its tax-exempt status. Voter education activities, such as voter registration drives, may be conducted in a non-partisan manner.

Event and Meeting Approval:

All events and meetings are subject to approval by Goodwill Industries of Kentucky. Goodwill reserves the right to refuse requests for room usage if events do not align with its mission and values.

Learning Center Room Rules and Policies:

No alcohol, drugs, or weapons are allowed on the premises.
No loud music or excessively loud presentations that could disturb others in the learning center.
No filming or social media advertising without prior approval.
No open flames (candles, etc.), except for Sterno-like canned fuel for catering.
No fees can be collected from attendees, nor can items be sold for personal gain.

Hours of Operation:

Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (No access before 8:00 a.m. or after 4:30 p.m.). Closed on weekends.

Reservation and Cancellation Policy:

Reservations will not be accepted more than six months in advance.
Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of the scheduled event.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

All materials must be removed after the event.
Bag and dispose of trash or leave it in the designated receptacles.
Report any urgent custodial needs to the information desk.

Technology Availability:

Each room is equipped with a large screen and HDMI cable for presentations.
Two wireless microphones are available for use in specific rooms.

Catering Policy:

As of October 1, 2024, Blak Koffee is the preferred vendor for catering at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus. If Blak Koffee is unavailable, outside vendors may be used.

Guest Guidelines for Room Setup:

No rental furniture is allowed. Use the existing tables and chairs.
Guests are responsible for room setup and must return the room to its original configuration after use.
Guests must adhere to room capacity limits.

Damage Policy:

Guests are responsible for reporting and covering the cost of any damage caused to the furniture, floors, or walls during their event.

Fee Policy:

Goodwill provides rooms at no cost to community organizations. Guests are encouraged to support Goodwill's mission with a donation to help maintain this free service.

Waiver and Release of Liability

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, Inc.

Waiver and Release of Liability for Use of Its Premises

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, Inc. ("Goodwill") provides the use of its space as a public service. By signing this Waiver and Release of Liability ("Agreement"), the undersigned waives and releases Goodwill and its representatives from any and all claims, including those related to personal injury, property damage, or any other liability arising from the use of Goodwill's facilities.

This Agreement covers any claims related to the negligence of the undersigned, third parties, or Goodwill, except in cases of Goodwill's intentional misconduct. The undersigned agrees not to pursue any legal action against Goodwill for any claims covered by this Agreement and will indemnify Goodwill for any related expenses, including legal fees.

Goodwill is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property. The undersigned agrees to adhere to all rules and regulations for facility use and to report and reimburse Goodwill for any damages caused.

This Agreement is governed by Kentucky law and applies to all uses of Goodwill's facilities by the undersigned and their associates. It remains in effect until terminated by Goodwill, which may occur at any time, for any reason. The undersigned confirms they have the authority to sign this Agreement on behalf of their organization and do so voluntarily.

I, the undersigned, am authorized to sign this Agreement on behalf of the organization (and its agents) as indicated below. I have read the Agreement and am entering into the Agreement freely and voluntarily.
